Help!!!

As a mother of 3 boys I am crying out for help.

I am completely clueless.

I'll admit I know next to nothing about boys.

They are a complete mystery to me.

I have only sisters, and if you include my step-sisters and half-sisters, I am one of SEVEN girls, no boys.

Dave and the boys are always telling me to relax when they, and their mates, are outside wrestling, setting up skateboard stunts (by the way, I always make them wear helmets, this photo was a staged), playing tackle rugby league, doing their own made up martial arts.....and the list of risk taking behaviour goes on, and on, and on...

They tell me to relax, I tell them I can't, I'm a mother, and it's my job to worry.

My goodness! That sounds very stressful. unfortunately, I'm about as much help as a rabbit- I'm an only girl who knows nothing about boys! I like the helmet thing, though. At the end of the day, I think you're the mum, and it's up to you to make the call. My mum was very strict on me, which I hated at the time, but really appreciate now. Stay strong!

Jo, even though my boys are very young, i can really relate. They both love to rough play, and tom is always wanting to chop people up and eat them for dinner. Girls dont usually appreciate this one!

Yes, it's from the WPA song. Have I found another fan? I am a big one!!! Great band, great song.

I'm with you Jo. Raising boys seems to be a whole different ball game. As you know, I haven't raised any boys myself, but you're doing a fantastic job at walking that fine line between letting them be boys and keeping them safe. Take heart, they'll be back at school next week, and in a few years they'll discover girls!
Lots of love, Nana Jan.

Sorry Jo - my hands are up in the air also (and I only have 1 boy!). I have 5 brothers and am in no better stead than you to raise boys. I'm sure you've read Dr James Dobson’s 'Bringing up Boys'?... All I can say is, my 2 girls are a walk in the park compared to Angus! Surrender (in my humble opinion) is the better option!

Hey Jo,
I'm sorry I'm no help with the boy problem. I grew up in a maleless house with Kate and Mum. But I am coming over in July for a week with the girls and would love to go fabric shopping! You are probably the expert on where to go, I will be at Kate's for the whole week. See you soon.

and am constantly yelling out...be careful!!!
My boys love to ride motorbikes so I am very stressed when they get on their bikes, lucky that their father knows a LOT about bikes and they are educated enough not to be silly...we bought them a trampoline for christmas...round one with the nets...first thing they said...wow a wrestling ring! argh, boys will be boys!
